According to the Bible, Amnon (אַמְנוֹן, "faithful") was the oldest son of David, King of Israel, with his wife, Ahinoam, who is described as "the Jezreelitess".
Amnun (אַמְנוּן) is a workers' moshav in the Upper Galilee in northern Israel. It belongs to the Mevo'ot HaHermon Regional Council and HaOved HaTzioni (part of Hanoar Hatzioni. It is located in the Korazim region, north of Kfar Nahum and the Sea of Galilee and east of Safed.
Faithful. (1.) One of the sons of Shammai, of the children of Ezra (Ch1 4:20; compare Ch1 4:17). (2.) The eldest son of David, by Ahinoam of Jezreel (Ch1 3:1; Sa2 3:2). Absalom caused him to be put to death for his great crime in the matter of Tamar (Sa2 13:28, Sa2 13:29).
